Legislative Reception
April 18, 2007

Hi all - we are gearing up as the Legislators head back to the Statehouse, and Representative Judy Livingston is interested in hearing from the Equine Community as far as needs and issues.  I am working as one of the lobbyists for Farm Bureau this year and will keep in touch with you folks.

In the meantime, please note that the Vermont Farm Bureau, the Green Mountain Dairy Federation and the United Dairy Farmers will be hosting Legislative Receptions throughout the session.

Although the sponsoring organizations seem to focus on dairy, please note the Farm Bureau represents all commodities and farm types - if you haven't joined yet, please let me know!

BUT, you don't need to be a member to attend - we would like as many farmers at each of these events as possible.

These are very informal gatherings, just to get you introduced to the legislators and the Statehouse - we can also offer tours if interested!

No need to RSVP - just be there!  Parking is limited in town, so your best bet is the park and ride behind the Department of Employment and Training on Memorial Drive - there is a shuttle that runs about every 15 minutes and goes right to the Statehouse free of charge.

If you have any questions, please give me a call at 802-434-5646 or email - I look forward to a good group of equine enthusiasts in attendance!
Thanks - Jackie
