On February 21, 2006 there was a Lamoille Valley Rail Trail Meeting at the Water and Light building on Route 12 just south of Morrisville:

The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is a proposed conversion of the old rail line to a multi-use, multi-season recreational trail.
Federal funding has been committed to assist in the conversion which is being overseen by VAST and the Regional Planning Commissions.
