In August of 2007 Empress is being ridden and is very quiet. She is not "goosey" at all and still very sweet. We're looking forward to just moseying along on the hills and trails for the rest of this year and most of next year before we make her work hard at all.
In June of 2007, as a three year old, Empress has gone to the trainer to be backed and have some experience away from home. We are guessing that she is 16 hands on the withers and 16.2 behind.
In November of 2006 Empress cut her rear leg badly and spent three months confined to her stall and a small paddock. She was never lame because of the cut. If anything she benefited from the extra handling. There ia only mild scarring where the cut occured.
In October of 2005 Empress worked on the lunge and on the trail with a saddle and she has carried a person with no fuss. Her training was over for the fall, she had the winter and another whole year to grow and develop.
As of September 28, 2005, Empress was 15.1 hands at the withers and 15.3 hands on the rump - the was as a yearling (that is one year and five months).
She is being lunged at the walk and trot and over poles.
She also ponies on the trail, up and down hill and over ditches.
She has also
been in and out of a stock trailer, led over a pseudo and backed off the
bridge.
Empress wears a sircingle and breast plate; the saddle and rubber bit

Empress is very quiet and mellow. She has a beautiful natural, flowing stride.
She has had clippers on her body, been de wormed regularly and had her feet trimmed every 6-8 weeks since she was a baby. Every day she is petted and handled in the pasture.

Turkey Hollow Farm raises and trains Quarter Horses and Quarter Horse crosses. Buckskin is our favorite color. Our aim is to produce foals that people wish to buy as soon as they are weaned, but we will keep training them until they do sell.
