Frosty - age 4 - summer 2005

THIS HORSE HAS GONE TO DO STUFF!!

Currently he is at Tamerack Hill Farm in South Strafford, Vermont. Feel free to check out their web site.

Frosty has incredible potential to be an event horse or hunter. Both sire and dam are great athletes and love to jump. Frosty would be an excellent project for a teenager looking to train a quiet green horse or an adult looking to train their own horse as a lifetime companion. He also would be a good prospect for a trainer to work with and sell to a client.
Discovered this summer! Frosty recovers well from mountain climbing, he could possibly do well in Competitive Trail rides as well. We think that is due to his unflappable personality, he doesn't worry about much of anything!

Frosty responds well to voice commands. He is curious, bold and loves people. He will go almost anywhere a person goes. He tries hard to please and does the best he can.
This summer of 2004 Frosty has spent a lot of time going down the trail. He has figured out the hills either going at a normal walk or his 'bouncy walk' that covers more ground.
In the ring we are working on relaxing the jaw and more precision in the steering. Frosty moves away from the leg forward and is learning to give either direction.

The summer of 2003 he worked on longlines and has been out under saddle on the trail and in the ring. We worked on steering and transitions, halt, walk and trot and finding that balance going down hill. He has filled out to looking like a beautiful hunter. When ridden he feels strong and steady with a wonderful bounce to his trot, not the least bit green horse wobbly.

In the summer of 2002, Frosty was backed with no excitement or problems. He was ridden a few times. Simply walking around the ring learning to stop and turn. He was very quiet, no fussing to be mounted and he didn't react to being touched all over his body by the rider.

In 2001 Frosty did some ponying on the trail, lunging and was broken to saddle. In the fall as a yearling Frosty had thirty days of training with the pros where they worked with all sorts of equipment and long lines.

This horse would not be for sale except we just have too many horses on the place!

Turkey Hollow Farm raises and trains Quarter Horses and Quarter Horse crosses. Buckskin is our favorite color. Our aim is to produce foals that people wish to buy as soon as they are weaned, but we will keep training them until they do sell. We are trying to produce athletes with good conformation and big feet. We currently have a few horses for sale, see our home page.
